Dr Anne Phillips is a Queens Nurse and a National Teaching Fellow with the Higher Education Academy; she is currently an Associate Professor in Diabetes Care at Birmingham City University. Anne also is part of the iDEAL Diabetes multidisciplinary advisory group, who are an independent organisation working to reduce variation in standards and enable excellence in diabetes care delivery both for people with diabetes and health care professionals.
Anne has an Honorary Contract as a Diabetes Research Nurse with the Diabetes Team at Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital, Birmingham, and also works locum as a Practice Nurse.
Anne is an editorial member for the European Medical Journal Diabetes Series and UK Practice Nursing Journals to enable outreach of diabetes education to practice colleagues.

A pharmacist based in the community and primary care. In his role as respiratory lead pharmacist (Barnet CCG and RightBreathe), Darush led a medicines management service to winning The Pharmacist award in respiratory services 2016. In 2019 Darush was awarded PCPA GP Pharmacist runner up, recognised for pharmacological/non-pharmacological interventions. He runs group sessions with patients and clinicians.
Darush enjoys running and raising money for respiratory and cardiac charities. One of his main missions is to reduce health inequalities caused by tobacco, and he spends a lot of his time teaching in deprived communities across the UK.
Darush has published more than 20 clinical papers and writes teaching modules on various pharmacy platforms. He has been recognised by his healthcare peers at the 2019 PCPA GP Pharmacist awards for excellence.

Queen's Nurse Heather is an entrepreneur, poet, author, social innovator and health policy influencer. She chaired New NHS Alliance, which influences national health strategy and policy on health inequalities, for over 2 years.
She is a former general practice nurse and director of primary care. Heather practises a social model of public health, inventing and co-producing solutions with local people. Based on her own severe asthma as a child, her latest innovation is BreathChamps: Where children, families and communities learn and share asthma knowledge in fun ways.
In 2018 she won the Sue Pembrey Award for person and community centred care and in 2016 Heather received the Open University Business School Alumnus Award for her 'Outstanding Contribution to Society'.

Dr Sarah Bath is a Lecturer at the University of Surrey. She has been working on iodine since 2006, investigating iodine status and its implications in UK pregnant women and women of childbearing age.
She published work in the Lancet, is the author of the BDA’s iodine fact sheet and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the World Iodine Association, and a committee member of the UK Iodine Group.

Beth has worked for the NHS for 17 years. She is a DSN in Southampton specialising in the care of type 1 diabetes and has a special love for all things young adults living with diabetes. She also loves all things diabetes technology.
Beth is in year two of her MSc Diabetes Practice at Swansea University and is also on the editorial board for the Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation (DRWF).
Beth is a a well known national diabetes speaker and one of the creators of the Diabetes 101 twitter team.
She is also passionate about the use of social media in nursing and in particular diabetes. She is the co-chair of the DSN Forum alongside Amanda Epps. They won QiC Diabetes Professional of the Year in 2018.

Anne Rodman has been training people to improve care for respiratory disease for over 15 years. Anne has an MSc in Acute and Emergency care and a Postgraduate Diploma in Respiratory Care, working in primary care since 1995.
Anne is the COPD education lead at Rotherham Respiratory, developing and delivering accredited online learning modules. She also supports primary care practices with training needs and running specialist clinics, and is involved in both COPD (TANDEM COPD) and asthma (Imp2ART) national research projects as a facilitator.
Anne is on the National Register of spirometry practitioners and a past member of the ARTP spirometry committee, and past co-chair of the PCRS-UK Conference organising committee.
Anne is passionate about the role of education in improving care, to ensure correct early diagnosis that enables patients to make informed choices and maintain a good quality of life for them and their families. She believes all patients should receive good quality care provided by a properly trained health care professional.

Janine is a Clinical Specialist working as a consultant with Evolan Pharma. With a background of more than 30 years as a Registered Nurse, she has worked across general surgery and vascular departments within secondary care, followed by several years working as a community nurse, caring for patients in their own homes. Janine later became Senior Nurse for the treatment room and leg ulcer services across several GP surgeries and was then appointed to Leg Ulcer Clinical Nurse Specialist. After working commercially as a Clinical Specialist for two wound care organisations, she was appointed to Clinical Excellence Training Manager where her focus was on developing customer and patient focused initiatives to improve wound care outcomes. Janine is passionate about improving the care and management of people who suffer with leg ulceration and skin conditions and she now works independently alongside Evolan Pharma to support their customers and patients with clinical and educational projects.
Dr Melanie Thomas

Lymphoedema Network Wales
Melanie is a physiotherapist by background. She was instrumental in developing equitable Lymphoedema Services in Wales and is responsible for the planning and strategic development of Lymphoedema Network Wales (LNW) across NHS Wales. Embedded in Value-Based Healthcare LNW aims to reduce waste, harm and variation as well as enhancing learning thus improving patient outcomes, patient experience and quality.
Melanie has been the principal investigator in numerous research trials in lymphoedema and completed her Doctorate with Swansea University in 2018. She has presented and published widely in delivering innovations in lymphoedema care including the implementation of the Lymphatic Venous Anastomosis and a National Paediatric Lymphoedema Service. One of the new of work initiatives is the Cellulitis Improvement Programme and embedding On the Ground Education for Community Nurses in NHS Wales.
In 2013, Melanie was awarded a MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours and a Fellowship by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. She is also a Director in the International Lymphoedema Framework Charity.

Dr Mariana Dineva

Dr Mariana Dineva is a Research Fellow in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Surrey. Her research work has investigated iodine status during pregnancy and the iodine intake of consumers of milk-alternative drinks in the UK. Currently, her research is focussed on the effects of iodine deficiency on hearing ability.

She had a keen interest in Wound Care and started as a Junior Wound Care Nurse with Accelerate shortly after qualifying - where she has continued to develop up into a Clinical Delivery Lead for Wound Care Research and Development. Hayley is now completing her MSc in Skin Integrity and Wound Management.

Dave Singh is professor of clinical pharmacology & respiratory medicine at the University of Manchester. He graduated in medicine from Cambridge University and then specialised in clinical pharmacology and respiratory medicine. His research interest is the development of new drugs for asthma and COPD. He is the medical director of the Medicines Evaluation Unit, where he has acted as principal investigator in over 300 clinical trials. He is a member of the Global initiative for the management of chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) Science Committee, and currently is the chair of the European Respiratory Society airway pharmacology group. He has served as an editor of the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, and is currently an editor at the European Respiratory Journal. He has over 250 publications.
